More Protein Is Not Automatically Better

One of the more persistent myths of the protein boom is the assumption that if some protein is good, more must be better. The research doesn't support that. Their main advantage is not that they replace food, but that they provide a convenient, predictable and high-quality source of protein when a full meal is not practical. After training, during a busy workday, while travelling or simply when daily protein intake is falling short, a shake or bar can be an easy way to stay consistent.

For many active people, the most practical approach is not choosing between whole foods and supplements, but using both in a way that fits their lifestyle and goals.
